Wins U.S. Open

Bryson DeChambeau clinched his first major title with a strong final round at the U-S Open at Winged Foot, as he carded a three-under 67 to pull away for dominant six-stroke victory over overnight leader Matthew Wolff. DeChambeau, whose win was his seventh on the P-G-A Tour, was two shots behind Wolff when the day began but passed him in five holes. Wolff struggled to a five-over 75 in the final round, but it was enough to finish outright second at even par. Former Golden Gopher golfer Eric van Rooyen finished 23rd at ten-over par, while Spring Lake Park graduate and former Winona State golfer Troy Merritt was 58th at 22-over-par.
