Chicken A LA King

Air Date May 28, 2015

Ingredients:

20 chicken breasts cooked and cut
2 onions
6-8 stalks of celery
4-6 carrots
2 tbs chicken base
1 bag peas
flour rue

Boil chicken, onions, celery carrots, chicken base, and peas together with water.
Once the chicken is cooked, remove and chop the breasts
and then replace them back in the pot and
cook until the carrots are tender.

Add enough flour rue to thicken the gravy mix.

Biscuits:

Make them individually in a pan and cut them in half before serving.
Scoop gravy over them

Cucumber Salad

Air Date May 21, 2015

Ingredients:

8 Cucumbers, peeled/ sliced
1/2 cup onion, finely chopped

DRESSING:
1 cup mayo
2 tbs. dill weed
4 tbs. vinegar
4 tbs. sugar
pinch of salt
pinch of pepper

Prepare cucumbers and onion.
make dressing and mix over cucumbers and onions
and refrigerate for at least one hour.
Italian Chicken Pasta Salad

Air Date May 14, 2015

Ingredients:

30 chicken breasts cooked and cut
4 cup mushrooms, chopped
4 cup green peppers, chopped
5 tsp parsley
5 lbs pasta, cooked/rinsed/cool
4-5 cups mozzarella cheese
Italian dressing
Extra dressing for serving

Combine chicken and dressing.
Add remaining ingredients.
Combine well and chill.
Peanut Butter Cake Bars

You will need:

1 1/3 cups butter, soft
1 1/3 cups peanut butter
2 cups sugar
2 cups brown sugar
8 eggs
4 teaspoons vanilla
4 cups flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
20 oz. chocolate chips (or butterscotch chips)

Cream the butter, peanut butter, sugar and brown sugar.
Then add the eggs, beating well.
Add vanilla and stir again.
Add the flour, salt, baking powder and mix well.
Add the chocolate or butterscotch chips.
Spread into a greased sheet pan and bake at 325 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes.

Chocolate Cheesecake Muffins

Air Date April 30, 2015

Ingredients:

2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
4 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 cup milk
2 eggs
1/2 cup oil
2 tsp. almond extract

Filling:

8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar
4 drops almond extract
2 tbs cornstarch
The night before, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and cocoa powder in a large bowl,
cover with a clean dishtowel and set aside.

Preheat oven to 3560 and grease muffin cups.

In a small bowl, make filling; beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, almond extract,
and cornstarch until uniformly fluffy. Set aside
In a separate bowl, beat together milk, egg, oil and almond extract.
Add milk mixture to flour mixture. Mix just until you no longer see any dry bits in the batter.

Fill the bottoms of the muffin cups with approximately 2 tbs. of batter or about 1/3 full.
Dab a spoonful of the cream cheese filling in the middle of each muffin cup,
making sure that the filling is not touching any of the sides.
Cover up the cream cheese with the rest of the batter, filling muffin cups until they are full.

Work as quickly as you can, so the cream cheese doesn't sink to the bottom.
Bake for 15-20 minutes, depending on your oven.

Broccoli Bacon Salad

Ingredients:

8-10 broccoli heads
1 onion, finely chopped
2 c. bacon medium crispy, about 20 pieces
1 cup raisins

Dressing:
4 cups mayo
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup vinegar
salt
pepper

Wash fresh not frozen broccoli heads and peel the onions before cutting them.
The broccoli needs to be little pieces.
After mixing the dressing ingredients, pour it over
the veggie mix and salt and pepper to taste,

Maple Walnut Muffins

Air Date April 16, 2015

Ingredients:

2 cups flour
1 tbsp baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup real maple syrup
2 eggs
3/4 cup milk
1/2 cup sour cream

TOPPING:
3 tbs flour
3 tbs. sugar
1/2 cinnamon
2 tbs pecans, chopped

Pre heat oven to 375. Line muffin pan with paper baking cups.
Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt together and set aside.

Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
Stir in the maple syrup and the eggs and beat until well blended.
Add the flour mixture alternately with the milk and
beat until well blended. Stir in the sour cream. Spoon the batter into
the muffin tins filling each about 2/3 full.

Bake for 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Remove to wire rack to cool completely.
Mexican Tostada Salad

Air Date April 9, 2015

Ingredients:

6 flour tortillas
3 tbs butter, melted
1 lb ground beef
1-2 tsp. chili powder
1/4 tsp cumin
1/4 tsp oregano
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. onion powder
1/8 tsp. pepper

1/2 cup tomato sauce
1/2 cup water
2 cups lettuce, shredded
15 oz. can kidney beans, drained
1 large tomato, chopped and seeded
1/2 cup olives, sliced
1/2 cup avacado, diced
8 oz. jar cheese spread, melted
Sour Cream

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly brush each side of tortillas with melted margarine.
place tortillas on cookie sheets and bake for 10-13 minutes. Set aside. In large skillet, brown ground beef and drain.
Add seasonings, tomato sauce and water;
simmer 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Yummy Bars

Ingredients:

2 cups flour
1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
4 eggs
2 cup brown sugar
4 tbsp. flour, rounded
1 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. vanilla
2 cup coconut

Combine flour, butter and brown sugar. Place in 9x13 pan.
Press down and bake for 10 minutes at 325.
Cool
Mix eggs, brown sugar, flour baking powder, vanilla
and coconut well and spread on first mixture.
Bake 25 minutes at 325.
Frosted Maple Bars

Air Date March 26, 2015

Ingredients:

2 cups brown sugar
1 1/2 cup butter
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
3 cups flour

Frosting:
4 cup powdered sugar
4 tbs. milk
4 tbs. butter, soft
2 tsp maple extract

Combine all ingredients and spread into greased pan.
Bake at 325 for 25-30 minutes until center is done.
Cool, and then spread on frosting.
Curry Sauce

You will need:

2 tbsp. horseradish
1/4 cup curry powder
3 cup mayo

Mix all ingredients together.
Taco Soup

Air Date March 12, 2015

You will need
1 lb Hamburger, browned and drained
1- 2 pkgs taco seasonings
add seasonings according to pkg directions

Drain & Rinse
1 can kidney beans
1 can pinto beans
1 can black beans

Add to burger mix with
1 can drained whole kernel corn
1 large can beef broth
1 large can of water
1 can stewed tomatoes

Heat to serving temperature. Can serve with corn chips sprinkled on top
or a dollop of sour cream

Pepperoni Caesar Pasta Salad

You will need:

22 1/2 cups shell pasta
15 cups shredded mozzarella
15 packages sliced pepperoni, quartered
15 cups fresh broccoli florets
7 1/2 cups caesar salad dressing

Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil.
Cook shell pasta in boiling water, stirring occasionally, until cooked through
but firm to the bite, 8 minutes, drain.

Combine cheese, pepperoni, and broccoli in a large bowl,
fold in pasta.
Drizzle with Caesar salad dressing, tossing to combine.
Refrigerate until serving.
Biscuits and Gravy

You will need:

3 lbs pork sausage
3 bouillion cubes
1/3 lb butter
1 1/2 cup flour
milk

Fry the pork sausage and drain off grease. Add bouillion cubes. and let them get soft and crumble.
Add butter and let melt. Add flour and keep stirring until a paste.
Add enough milk to cover meat by 1" or so and stir with a whisk so no lumps form.
Add more milk as needed to get desired thickness.
Butterscotch Cake

You will need:

6 cups yellow cake mix
2 butterscotch instant pudding mix
2 cups milk
1 cup oil

Mix all ingredients together and pour into 2 greased Bundt cake pan.
Bake for 35 minutes at 325.
Top with powdered sugar or drizzle with thin powdered sugar frosting.

Matrimony Bars

Air Date February 12, 2015

You will need:

4 cups oatmeal
4 cups flour
2 1/2 cups brown sugar
3 tsp baking soda
dash salt
2 1/2 cup butter, soft

Filling:
32 oz. chopped dates
1 1/2 cup water
2 1/2 cup sugar

Mix oatmeal, flour brown sugar, baking soda, salt and butter together well.
Press half of the mixture into a sheet pan.

In a saucepan, stir chopped dates, water, and sugar. Cook over medium heat until smooth and bubbly.
Pour over crust, spread evenly, and spread remaining crumb mixture on top.
Bake at 325 for 20-25 minutes.
Potato Delight

You will need:

2 lb. bag frozen hash browns
dried onion
salt
1 pint whipping cream

Grease 9x13 pan.
Put a layer of hash browns on the bottom of pan and sprinkle on some dried onion and salt.
Add the whipping cream over the potatoes.
Bake in slow (250) oven for 2 hours.
Fanny Farmer Fudge

Air Date January 29, 2015

You will need:

4 1/2 cup sugar
3 tsp. vanilla
1 lb. butter
1 12 oz. can evaporated milk
1 23 oz. bag chocolate chips

Boil together sugar, butter and milk for 15 to 20 minutes.
Pour boiled mixture in bowl over chocolate chips and vanilla.
Mix for 20 to 30 minutes.

Hawaiian Cake

You will need:

Cake:
1/2 cup oil
11oz. can mand. oranges with juice
4 eggs
1 yellow cake mix

Frosting:
10 oz. cool whip
small instant vanilla pudding
crushed pineapple w/juice

Add oil to cake mix and blend
Add oranges and blend
Add eggs and beat until well blended.

Pour into greased 9 x 13 pan
Bake at 325 degrees convection oven 30 to 35 minutes
Frost when cool.

Refrigerate until served
Chicken Rice Casserole

You will need:

1 cup cooked chicken
1 cup cooked rice
1 bag frozen broccoli
1 bag frozen cauliflower
2 cans cream of mushroom soup
2 cups milk to thin

Cook the chicken breasts and then cube them.
Mix the soups and milk together to the consistency of a cream sauce.
Then add the vegetables, chicken, and rice.
Pour the mixture into a shallow sprayed pan
and bake at 325 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes or until it is bubbly.

Chocolate Marshmallow Bars

Air Date January 1, 2015

You will need:

1 1/2 cup butter, soft
3 cups sugar
6 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 2/3 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp. salt
6 tbsp cocoa
8 cup mini marshmallows

Topping

2 3/4 cup chocolate chips
6 tbsp butter
2 cup peanut butter
4 cups Rice Krispies
Cream together butter and sugar.
Add in vanilla and eggs and beat until fluffy.
Add flour, salt, baking powder, and cocoa and mix well.

Spread onto sprayed sheet pan and bake at 325 for 12-15 minutes.
Remove and sprinkle with marshmallows. Using a wet knife
spread over crust and cool.
Combine topping ingredients and cook over low heat, stirring until melted.
Remove from heat and add cereal.
Spread over crust.

Navy Bean And Ham Soup

Air Date December 25, 2014

You will need:

1 large ham bone
2 cup chopped onion
2 cup chopped celery
3 cup carrots
4 lbs. navy beans
8 qts water
2-3 bay leaves
salt
pepper

Wash beans, place in a large bowl and add boiling water.
Let the beans soak for a few hours. Simmer the ham bones with the beans until the beans are tender.
Remove bones and chop ham bits.
Add chopped onions and celery.
Add water to make about 1 gallon.
Add ham meat, salt and pepper to taste. Cook about 30 minutes longer.

Melt-Away Sugar Cookies

You will need:

1 1/2 c. butter
1 1/2 c. margarine
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
6 1/4 cup flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. cream of tartar
1 tbsp. baking soda
Mix all ingredients well. Form into balls and
dip in sugar or use a glass dipped in sugar.

Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes.

Cream of Potato Soup with Ham

Air Date December 11, 2014

You will need:

Potatoes boiled or cooked and diced
1 medium onion
Ham or bacon, diced
1/2 gallon heavy cream, or milk
salt
pepper

Boil potatoes, or use already cooked ones.
Saute onion, in olive oil or butter
Add potatoes and chopped ham or bacon. Cover potatoes with heavy cream or milk and salt and pepper to taste.
Serve when warm throughout

Lentil Pepperoni Stew

You will need:

6 cup water
1 1/2 cup dry lentils, rinsed
1 medium chopped onion
1/4 lb.sliced pepperoni, quartered
1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. oregano
1/4 tsp. rubbed sage
1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
2 medium tomatoes, chopped
1 celery rib with leaves, chopped
1 medium carrot, chopped

In a Dutch oven, combine the water, lentils, onion, pepperoni,
tomato paste, and seasonings; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 30 minutes.

Add the tomatoes, celery and carrot; cover and simmer 35-45 minutes longer
or until vegetables are tender.

Cranberry Bog Bars

You will need:

Crust ingredients:

2 cup butter (softened)
2 cup brown sugar
4 cups oatmeal
2 cups flour
4 cups Cranberry Sauce

Topping ingredients:

1/2 cup butter (melted)
1/2 cup brown sugar
3 cups oatmeal

Mix butter, brown sugar, oatmeal and flour together and press into a greased sheet pan.
Spread cranberry sauce over the crust and let sit.
Next mix together all the topping ingredients and sprinkle over the cranberry sauce.
Bake in oven at 325 degrees for 20-30 minutes or until lightly brown.
Party Mint Dessert

Air Date November 20, 2014

You will need:

2 pkgs. Oreos crushed
1/2 cup melted butter
1 large container cool whip
2 cup mini marshmallows
5 & one half 8 oz. pkg colored party mints

Mix oreos and butter and chill, but save 3/4 cup crumb mixture.
Blend cool whip, mini marshmallows and colored party mints.
Spread on chilled crust.
Sprinkle remaining crumb mixture on top.
Chill overnight or at least 2 hours.

Zuppa Soup

Air Date November 13, 2014

You will need:

1 1/2 pounds mild Italian/pork sausage
1 large onion, chopped
6 slices bacon
1 1/2 tsp. minced garlic
10 c. water
5 cubes of chicken bouillon
1 c. heavy cream
3 large potatoes, diced
1/4 of a bunch kale
Parmesan cheese for garnish

Cook off sausage and peppers, saute onions and garlic and bacon,
and save a little of the fat for flavoring.
Cook the potatoes in 10 cups of water adding the chicken bouillon. When those are tender,
add sausage, onion, cream and kale.
Simmer for 15 minutes

Hearty Salmon Pie

You will need:

For the crust:

1/4 cup butter
3/4 crushed dried crumbly style herb dressing

For the filling:

2 cup crushed dried crumbly stuffing
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup water
1/2 cup milk
16 oz. can red salmon, drained, flaked, bones removed
2 eggs
1 tsp. instant chicken bouillon
1/2 tsp dry mustard
2 tbs. fresh parsley, chopped
1 tbs. onion, chopped

Sauce:
1/3 cup butter
2 tbs. cornstarch
1 1/3 cup water
1 tsp. dill weed
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cup cubed 1/2" ripe tomatoes

Heat oven to 350 degrees. In a 3 quart saucepan, melt 1/4 cup finely crushed stuffing.
Press stuffing mixture on bottom and
upsides of a greased 9" pie pan. Set aside.
In the same saucepan, stir together all filling ingredients; spoon into crust. Bake for 50-55 minutes or until heated through; let stand 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, in 2-quart saucepan, melt 1/3 cup butter. Stir in cornstarch. Stir in remaining sauce ingredients except tomatoes.
Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until mixture comes to a full boil.
Add tomatoes and boil for one minute.
Butterscotch Candy

You will need:

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 cup light corn syrup
1 tbs. water

Boil until it forms a soft ball. Place in buttered pan

Cut when partially cooled.

Chicken and Cheese Enchiladas

Air Date October 23, 2014

You will need:

1 can condensed cream of chicken soup
1/2 c. sour cream
1 c. picante sauce
2 tsp. chili powder
2 c. cooked chicken, chopped
1/2 c. Monterey jack cheese, shredded
6 flour tortillas ( 6 inch) warmed
1/2 c. (1 small) tomato, chopped
2 tbs green onion, sliced

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Stir in the soup, sour cream, picante sauce and chili powder in a medium bowl.
Stir in 1 cup soup mixture, chicken and cheese in large bowl.
Divide the chicken mixture among the tortillas.
Roll up the tortillas and place seam-side down in a 11x7x2 inch pan.
Pour the remaining soup mixture over the filled tortillas.
Cover the baking dish.
Bake for 40 minutes or until the enchiladas are hot and bubbling.
Top with the tomato and onion.

Apple Cider Doughnuts

Air Date October 16, 2014

You will need:

2 Apples
2 1/2 c. cider
3 1/2 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
3 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 2/3 c. sugar
3 tbs. shortening
1 egg & 1 egg yolk
3/4 cup buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. powdered sugar
Vegetable oil for frying

Core and coarsely chop apples. Combine with 1 1/2 cups cider in saucepan, cover and cook on medium heat about 8 minutes or until soft.
Uncover and continue cooking until apples are tender and cider is almost reduced, about 5 minutes.
Puree. Measure to 1 cup. Let cool slightly.

Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg. Beat 2/3 cup sugar
and shortening until blended.
Beat egg in applesauce. Add 1/2 of the flour mixture, then the buttermilk, and vanilla, and then the rest of the flour.
Mix the sticky dough, but don't over mix.

Scrape bowl onto floured parchment paper and pat into 7x11 rectangle
about 1/2 inch thick. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

Make glaze by simmering 1 cup cider until reduced to 1/4 cup. Whisk in powdered sugar until glossy and set aside.

Mix up 1 cup sugar and 2 tsp. cinnamon for the topping.

Heat 2 inches of oil to 400. Line sheet with paper towel.
Cut chilled dough into 12 21/2 - 3 inch rounds and middles out with 1 inch round.
Fry 2-3 at a time. 1-2 minutes per side.
Drain. Dip into glaze and then sugar mixture.

Butternut Squash Soup

You will need:

1 1/2 cup onion, chopped
1 c. butter
24 c. peeled and cubed squash
2-3 cans chicken broth
2 tsp. marjoram
1 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. rosemary
8 (8 oz.) pkgs, cream cheese

In a large saucepan, saute onions in margarine until tender.
Add squash, broth, majoram, black pepper, and rosemary.
Bring to boil; cook 20 minutes, or until squash is tender.

Puree squash and cream cheese in a blender or food processor in batches until smooth.
Return to saucepan, and heat through. Do not allow to boil.

Chocolate Peanut Bars

Air Date October 2, 2014

You will need:

1 cup chunky peanut butter
6 oz. chocolate chips
6 oz. butterscotch chips
1 stick margarine
3-4 cups Rice Krispies
1 pkg. miniature marshmallows
1/2 cup peanuts

Melt peanut butter, chocolate chips, butterscotch chips and margarine over medium heat.

In a large bowl mix Rice Krispies, miniature marshmallows, and peanuts.

Pour melted sauce over cereal. Stir well.
Press into a 9x13 inch pan and cool.

Ashley's Lasagna

Air Date September 25, 2014

You will need:

3 #10 cans spaghetti sauce
1 can diced tomatoes
4 onions, chopped
20 lbs ground beef
1 container cottage cheese
3-4 boxed of noodles
Shredded mozzarella cheese

SEASONINGS FOR SAUCE:

2 tbs. garlic powder
2 tbs onion powder
2 tbs. ground Italian Herbs
1 tbs. oregano
1 tbs. basil
2 tsp. ground majoram
2 tsp. salt

Add garlic powder, onion powder, ground Italian herbs, oregano, basil, ground majoram
and salt to spaghetti sauce.

Brown beef, and drain; add seasoned spaghetti sauce, onions, and diced tomatoes.
Put down a layer of sauce, then noodles, then cottage cheese, then sauce again. Sprinkle with shredded mozzarella.
Add another layer of noodles, cottage cheese, sauce and sprinkle shredded mozzarella.
Add one more of each layer, add one cup of water to each pan, cover and cook at 325 for 45 minutes
reduce temp to 300 and cook for another 25 minutes.

Baked Rice Pudding

You will need:

15 eggs (beaten)
7 1/2 cup milk
2 2/3 cup sugar
5 tsp. vanilla
5 cups rice(cooked)
2 1/2 cups raisins
Cinnamon

Combine together the first 4 ingredients and add to the cooked rice,
and raisins. Sprinkle the top with cinnamon and bake
at 325 degrees for 30 - 45 minutes
or until the middle is firm to the touch.

Apple Streusel Cheesecake Bars

Air Date September 11, 2014

You will need
2 pouch oatmeal cookie mix
1 cup butter, firm
4 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 cup sugar
4 tbs flour
2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2 can apple pie filling
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. walnuts, chopped

Heat oven to 350. Spray bottom and sides of 13x9 inch pan with cooking spray.

Place cookie mix in a large bowl. With pastry blender or fork, cut in butter until mixture is crumbly and coarse.
Reserve 1 1/2 cups crumb mixture; press remaining crumbs in bottom of pan.
Bake 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, in a large bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, flour, vanilla
and egg with electric mixer on medium speed until smooth.

Spread cream cheese mixture evenly over partially baked crust. In a medium bowl
mix pie filling and cinnamon. Spoon evenly over cream cheese mixture.
Sprinkle reserved crumbs over top. Sprinkle with walnuts.

Bake 35-40 minutes longer or until light golden brown.
Cool about 30 minutes. Refrigerate to chill, about 2 hours. Store covered in refrigerator

PJB Bars

Air Date September 4, 2014

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup quick cooking oats

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 cup butter, softened

1/4 cup white sugar

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

1 egg

1/2 cup peanut butter

1/4 cup milk

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/4 cups any flavor fruit jam

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup quick cooking oats

1/4 cup packed brown sugar

1/8 teaspoon baking soda
3 tablespoons butter, softened

Beat 1/2 cup butter or margarine until smooth. Add 1/4 cup white sugar and 1/2 cup brown sugar and beat well.
Add egg, milk, peanut butter and vanilla and beat well.
Stir in 1 cup flour, 1 cup oats, and 1/2 teaspoon baking soda.

Spread in a greased 13 x 9 inch pan. Spread preserves all over top. Sprinkle with crumb topping.
To Make Topping:
Mix together 1/2 cup flour, 1/2 cup quick oats, 1/4 cup brown sugar,
1/8 teaspoon baking soda, and 3 tablespoons softened butter or margarine until crumbly.
Sprinkle over the top of the preserves.
Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 18 - 20 minutes.

Garlic Cheese Biscuits

You will need
14 cups buttermilk baking mix
4 2/3 cup milk
3 1/2 c shredded Cheddar Cheese
1 3/4 cup butter melted
1 tbs and 1/2 tsp. garlic powder

Preheat oven to 450 degrees
Combine baking mix, milk and cheddar cheese in mixing bowl.
Beat with wooden spoon until soft dough forms.

Drop dough by spoonfuls unto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes until golden brown.

Mix butter and garlic powder and brush over warm biscuits
before removing from cookie sheet.

Peach Pie

Air Date August 21, 2014

You will need
2/3 cup butter
2 cup flour
1/2 tsp salt
4 to 5 tbs water

Filling
2/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup flour
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
6 peaches, medium size
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 tbs. butter

For the crust, mix flour, salt, and butter together and add water,
1 tbs at a time until desired consistency.
Roll into 2 flat discs and refrigerate them for
at least 15 minutes.

For the filling, mix the flour, sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl.
Slice the peaches and toss them with lemon juice.
Combine with the flour mixture and scoop into the pastry shell.
Dot with butter, and then cover and seal.
Cover edge until last 15 minutes of baking.

Bake for 45 minutes or until brown at 425 degrees.
Cool and serve
Blonde Brownies

You will need
2 2/3 cup flour
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2/3 cup butter
2 1/4 cup brown sugar
3 eggs
1 cup peanuts, chopped
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate morsels

Sift together and set aside flour, baking powder, and salt.
Melt butter in large saucepan and blend in brown sugar.
Let cool for approx. 10 minutes.

Beat in eggs, one at a time. Add flour mixture, chopped peanuts,
and chocolate morsels, and then spread out.

Iowa Auction Sandwich

You will need
3 lb Hamburger, browned and drained
2 tbsp dried onion
1 Tbsp warm water

Put onion & water together in a small bowl to reconstitute onion

1 beef and 1 chicken bouillon cube
1 1/2 c water

Dissolve cubes in water.

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
2 Tbsp brown sugar

Combine all ingredients and heat through. Place servings on hamburger bun and enjoy.

Taco Soup

You will need
1 lb Hamburger, browned and drained
1- 2 pkgs taco seasonings
add seasonings according to pkg directions

Drain & Rinse
1 can kidney beans
1 can pinto beans
1 can black beans

Add to burger mix with
1 can drained whole kernel corn
1 large can beef broth
1 large can of water
1 can stewed tomatoes

Heat to serving temperature. Can serve with corn chips sprinkled on top
or a dollop of sour cream

Beet Salad

Air Date July 10, 2014

You will need
1 #10 can of beets cubed and drained
1 tbsp oil
1 tsp brown mustard
1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
dash tabasco sauce

Combine and pour on drained beets. Let sit in refrigerator for at least one hour.

Before serving, add 1 finely chopped red onion, 1/3 cup crumbled feta cheese and parsley flakes
Mix well.

Peanut Butter Oatmeal Bars

You will need

2 c. brown sugar
2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
8 c. oatmeal

Frosting:
2 c. peanut butter
12 oz. chocolate chips

Mix sugar, brown sugar, and butter together.
Pat into a sheet pan and bake for 10 minutes at
325 degrees.
Melt the peanut butter and chocolate chips and spread over the crust.

Beef Stroganoff

You will need
1 lb. ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
1/2 cup mushrooms, chopped
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup sour cream
5 oz. beef stock
1/2 pound fettuccini noodles, cooked and drained

Saute the vegetables in butter and pour them over the cubed beef. Mix soup
sour cream, and the beef stock and then mix
that into the beef and vegetables.
Add the cooked noodles and combine thoroughly.

Jello Poke Salad

Air Date June 12, 2014

You will need
2 boxes of white cake mix
2 small pkgs jello any flavor
cool whip

Bake cake in a 9x13 inch pan according to the directions.
Poke holes in the warm cake with a large metal fork.
Mix the jello with 1 cup boiling water and pour slowly over the entire cake.
Let the cake cool completely,
and frost with the cool whip.

Keep this cake refrigerated.

Au Gratin Potatoes

Air Date June 5, 2014

You will need
1 pound potatoes
1/2 quart buttermilk
2 1/2 tablespoons salt
1 1/2 tablespoons pepper
1/2 pound cheddar cheese, shredded

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease the baking pans.
Layer the potatoes pm the bottom of the dish.
Pour 1/3 of the buttermilk of the buttermilk over the potatoes and sprinkle
with 1/3 of the salt, pepper, and cheese.
Repeat 2 more times, ending with cheese on top.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until hot,
bubbly, and golden.

Snicker Salad

Air Date May 29, 2014

You will need
3-4 apples, cored and cut bite size (peel if desired). If you don't peel the apples,
choose different colored apples for variety of color in the salad.

3-4 snickers bars (regular-sized, not mini ones), sliced into 1/2 inch pieces.
A good tip is to cut them in half the long way and then into 1/2 inch slices.

1 small container cool whip

1/2 package dry instant butterscotch pudding

Mix dry pudding with cool whip. Add the apples and snickers pieces. Walnuts may be added if you like.

You can vary this recipe with different flavors of pudding and different candy bars,
and other fruits such as fresh strawberries, grapes or fresh orange sections.

Use your imagination and give anything a try once!

Zucchini Bread

3 eggs (beat until fluffy)

1 cup vegetable oil

2 cups sugar

2 cups grated raw zucchini

1 tsp. vanilla

3 cups flour

1 tsp soda

1 tsp salt

2 tsp. cinnamon

1/4 tsp. baking powder
In large bowl put in 1st five ingredients. Then add the dry ingredients.
Nuts may be added if desired. Mix well, but do not over mix.
Divide dough into 2 greased and floured loaf pans
and bake 325 for 1 hour or until toothpick comes out clean. Freezes well.
Rice Krispies

Air Date May 15, 2014

You will need:

3 tablespoons butter
1 package marshmallows
6 cups Rice Krispies

Melt the butter and marshmallows.
Add the cereal and spread in a greased 9 x 13 inch pan.
Let cool and cut.
Cover with plastic and foil right away so they don't get too hard.
This recipe makes 20 2x3 inch bars.
Waldorf Salad

Air Date May 8, 2014

You will need:

4-6 red apples, chopped
4-6 yellow apples, chopped
4 tablespoons lemon juice
4-5 stocks celery, chopped
1 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
1 1/2 cup raisins
2 cups mayo
Cinnamon
Nutmeg

Toss the apples in lemon juice and
add the celery, raisins, and mayo and mix it well.
Then add the cinnamon and nutmeg.
Chill.
Walnuts are to be served in the side.

Rhubarb and Strawberry Crisp

You will need:

6 cups cut rhubarb
2 cups fresh strawberries, cut
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 egg
4 1/2 tablespoons flour
1 box dry white cake mix
1 1/2 sticks butter

Mix the rhubarb, strawberries, sugar, egg and flour together
and put into a 9x13 inch baking pan.
Put the box of cake mix over the rhubarb and strawberries.
Then cut up the sticks of butter and place on top of the dry cake mix.
Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until golden brown.

Seame Chicken

You will need:

1/3 cups honey
2 1/2 tablespoon soy sauce
1 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
1/3 cup sesame seeds
1 1/4 pounds boneless, skinless, chicken thighs

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. In a medium bowl,
stir together the honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, and sesame seeds.
Dip the chicken into the sauce to coat,
and then place them in a lightly greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
Bake for about 45 minutes in the preheated oven
until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce is carmalized.
Peanut Butter Cake Bars

You will need:

1 1/3 cups butter, soft
1 1/3 cups peanut butter
2 cups sugar
2 cups brown sugar
8 eggs
4 teaspoons vanilla
4 cups flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
20 oz. chocolate chips (or butterscotch chips)

Cream the butter, peanut butter, sugar and brown sugar.
Then add the eggs, beating well.
Add vanilla and stir again.
Add the flour, salt, baking powder and mix well.
Add the chocolate or butterscotch chips.
Spread into a greased sheet pan and bake at 325 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes.

Pea Salad

Air Date April 10, 2014

You will need:

2 bags frozen peas
5 handfuls of cubed cheese

Dressing:
4 cups miracle whip
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup vinegar
salt
pepper

First thaw the peas. Cut the cheese into smaller pieces if needed.
Make the dressing and pour over the peas and cheese

Make sure to refrigerate.

Shirley's Lemon Bars

Air Date April 3, 2014

You will need:

CRUST:
3 cups flour
1 cup powdered sugar
3 sticks butter, softened not melted
3 tablespoons lemon zest

FILLING:
6 large eggs
4 tablespoons lemon zest
1 cup lemon juice
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
6 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon salt
powdered sugar for dusting

First, make the crust by blending all crust ingredients together to a course crumb stage.
Pat the crumbs into a foil-lined, small greased jellyroll pan.
Bake at 325 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes until the crust is a golden brown.
Remove to a cooling rack and filling may be added right away.

For the filling, beat the eggs at a high speed until they are frothy.
Add sugar and continue at high speed until the mixture is thick and lemon-colored,
around three minutes.
Reduce speed and add the remaining ingredients one at a time and beat until well blended,
scraping the sides of the bowl as you go.
Pour the mixture over the warm crust and bake at 350 degrees for another 15 to 20 minutes.
The filling should be set and lightly browned at the edges.
Remove from the oven and dust with powdered sugar.
Cool completely before trying to cut. Keep in fridge.

Scallop Potatoes and Ham

You will need:

8-10 potatoes
1 1/2 cups chopped ham
Salt
Pepper
1 pint heavy whipping cream
Peel and thinly slice a layer of potatoes into a greased pan.
Salt and pepper the potatoes and then add a layer of ham.
Repeat these steps and end with a layer of potatoes.

Pour the heavy whipping cream over the whole pan
until you can see it come up the sides of the pan.
Cover with plastic wrap and a metal cover.

Bake until fork tender, usually two hours at 350 degrees.

Fruit Bars

Air Date March 20, 2014

You will need:

3 cups oats
2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 1/2 cups butter, soft
fruit filling

First combine the oats, flour, brown sugar, and butter.
Set half of the mixture aside for the topping and press the
other half of the mixture into a sprayed pan
and bake at 325 for 20-25 minutes.

For the filling, prepared preserves or pie filling can be used.
use enough to cover the crust nicely.
Cover that fruit with the reserved oat mixture.
Press gently into the fruit and bake another
20-30 minutes at 325 degrees, or until golden.

You can drizzle with powdered sugar frosting if desired.
Patsy's Salad

You will need:

2 cups mayo
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 to 3/4 cup parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons minced onion
2 tablespoons dried parsley
Lettuce
8 strips bacon, chopped
broccoli, chopped
Mix the mayo, sugar, parmesan cheese, onion, and parsley together.
Let mixture stand for two hours.
Then, before you are ready to serve, mix the lettuce, bacon
and broccoli together in a bowl. Add dressing to your liking.
This dressing will keep in the fridge for up to two weeks.
Chocolate Butterscotch Bars

You will need:

2 1/2 cups crushed vanilla wafers
1/4 cup butter, melted
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup coconut
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup butterscotch chips
1 can sweetened condensed milk

Mix together vanilla wafers, melted butter, and vanilla.
Press the mixture into a sprayed sheet pan and sprinkle
with the coconut, chocolate chips, and butterscotch chips over the top.
Pour the condensed milk over the top of that
and bake at 350 degrees for 20 - 25 minutes
or until the edges are lightly brown.

Halushki with Polish Sausage

You will need:

1 bag extra wide egg noodles, cooked
1 lb Polish Sausage, sliced 1/2 inch thick
1 jar sauerkraut, drained and rinsed
1/2 lb butter, melted
Salt and pepper to taste

Cook the noodles in water and drain them.
Then add them to a steam pan with the sauerkraut and polish sausage.
Mix all three together and pour the butter over the mixture.
Bake in the oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
Add more butter if the noodles seem a little dried out.

Banana Bars

Air Date February 20, 2014

You will need:

1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 mashed bananas
3/4 cup buttermilk
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
dash of soda

FROSTING
1 cup evaporated milk
3 egg yolks
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 pound margerine
1/2 cup coconut
1 cup nuts, chopped

Cream the butter and sugar together.
Add eggs, mashed bananas and buttermilk and mix well
Add the flour, baking soda, salt and mix.
Bake in a greased jellyroll pan, cool and then frost.

For the frosting, combine milk, egg yolks, sugar, vanilla, and margarine.
Boil for about 10 minutes and then add coconut and nuts.
Cool and then spread over the bars.

Chicken Rice Casserole

You will need:

1 cup cooked chicken
1 cup cooked rice
1 bag frozen broccoli
1 bag frozen cauliflower
2 cans cream of mushroom soup
2 cups milk to thin

Cook the chicken breasts and then cube them.
Mix the soups and milk together to the consistency of a cream sauce.
Then add the vegetables, chicken, and rice.
Pour the mixture into a shallow sprayed pan
and bake at 325 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes or until it is bubbly.
Apple Crisp

Air Date February 6, 2014

You will need:

5-6 cups sliced apples
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 egg
1/3 cup butter
Cinnamon

Mix the dry ingredients together, and then add the egg until the mixture is crumbly.
Layer the apples in the bottom of a 8x10 sprayed pan
and spread the mix over the apples.
Then pour 1/3 cup melted butter over the mixture and sprinkle with cinnamon.
Bake at 325 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.

Potato Soup

Air Date January 30, 2014

You will need:

4 cups boiled, cubed and slightly mashed
1/2 onion, chopped
1/4 lb bacon, fried crispy and cut
4. oz cream cheese
1 1/2 cans chicken broth
salt
pepper

Place potatoes, onion, pepper, salt and bacon in a crock pot.
Soften cream cheese and mix with the chicken broth.
Add broth mixture to the crock pot.
Cook in the crock pot on high for 5 hours or low for 8 hours.
Rice Krispies Oatmeal Bars

You will need:

1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. butter
1 c. oil
1 egg
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
3 1/2 c. flour
1 c. rice krispies
1 c. oatmeal

Cream sugar, brown sugar, butter and oil together; then add egg, then flour, baking soda and salt.
Add vanilla, Rice Krispies and oatmeal.
Spread into greased baking pan and bake
at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes

Sloppy Joes

Air Date January 16, 2014

You will need:

1 lb. ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 c. ketchup (or to taste)
1/3 c. mustard (or to taste)
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
Salt and Pepper to taste

Brown ground beef, chopped onion and garlic powder and drain off fat.
Add ketchup, mustard and brown sugar.
Add salt, pepper and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer.

Melt-Away Sugar Cookies

You will need:

1 1/2 c. butter
1 1/2 c. margarine
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
6 1/4 cup flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. cream of tartar
1 tbsp. baking soda
Mix all ingredients well. Form into balls and
dip in sugar or use a glass dipped in sugar.

Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
Tator Tot Hotdish

Air Date January 2, 2014

You will need:

1 lb ground beef
1 small chopped onion, or 1/2 cup dried onion
1 can of cream of mushroom soup
1 can of milk (enough to thin the sauce)
1 bag Tator Tots
1 can Veg-all Mixed vegetables
Salt
Pepper
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp soy sauce

Brown ground beef and onion together, mix in the cream of mushroom soup and milk.
Simmer until the mixture is creamy, add salt, pepper and Worcestershire sauce to taste.
Place all of the veggies into a pan.
Cover veggie mixture with burger and sauce mixture and stir well.
Cover the top with tater tots and then cover the pans.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes;
uncover for an additional 15 minutes to let the tots brown nicely.

Chicken A LA King

Air Date May 28, 2015

Ingredients:

20 chicken breasts cooked and cut
2 onions
6-8 stalks of celery
4-6 carrots
2 tbs chicken base
1 bag peas
flour rue

Boil chicken, onions, celery carrots, chicken base, and peas together with water.
Once the chicken is cooked, remove and chop the breasts
and then replace them back in the pot and
cook until the carrots are tender.

Add enough flour rue to thicken the gravy mix.

Biscuits:

Make them individually in a pan and cut them in half before serving.
Scoop gravy over them

Cucumber Salad

Air Date May 21, 2015

Ingredients:

8 Cucumbers, peeled/ sliced
1/2 cup onion, finely chopped

DRESSING:
1 cup mayo
2 tbs. dill weed
4 tbs. vinegar
4 tbs. sugar
pinch of salt
pinch of pepper

Prepare cucumbers and onion.
make dressing and mix over cucumbers and onions
and refrigerate for at least one hour.
Italian Chicken Pasta Salad

Ingredients:

30 chicken breasts cooked and cut
4 cup mushrooms, chopped
4 cup green peppers, chopped
5 tsp parsley
5 lbs pasta, cooked/rinsed/cool
4-5 cups mozzarella cheese
Italian dressing
Extra dressing for serving

Combine chicken and dressing.
Add remaining ingredients.
Combine well and chill.

Chocolate Cheesecake Muffins

Air Date April 30, 2015

Ingredients:

2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
4 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 cup milk
2 eggs
1/2 cup oil
2 tsp. almond extract

Filling:

8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar
4 drops almond extract
2 tbs cornstarch
The night before, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and cocoa powder in a large bowl,
cover with a clean dishtowel and set aside.

Preheat oven to 3560 and grease muffin cups.

In a small bowl, make filling; beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, almond extract,
and cornstarch until uniformly fluffy. Set aside
In a separate bowl, beat together milk, egg, oil and almond extract.
Add milk mixture to flour mixture. Mix just until you no longer see any dry bits in the batter.

Fill the bottoms of the muffin cups with approximately 2 tbs. of batter or about 1/3 full.
Dab a spoonful of the cream cheese filling in the middle of each muffin cup,
making sure that the filling is not touching any of the sides.
Cover up the cream cheese with the rest of the batter, filling muffin cups until they are full.

Work as quickly as you can, so the cream cheese doesn't sink to the bottom.
Bake for 15-20 minutes, depending on your oven.

Broccoli Bacon Salad

Air Date April 23, 2015

Ingredients:

8-10 broccoli heads
1 onion, finely chopped
2 c. bacon medium crispy, about 20 pieces
1 cup raisins

Dressing:
4 cups mayo
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup vinegar
salt
pepper

Wash fresh not frozen broccoli heads and peel the onions before cutting them.
The broccoli needs to be little pieces.
After mixing the dressing ingredients, pour it over
the veggie mix and salt and pepper to taste,

Maple Walnut Muffins

Air Date April 16, 2015

Ingredients:

2 cups flour
1 tbsp baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup real maple syrup
2 eggs
3/4 cup milk
1/2 cup sour cream

TOPPING:
3 tbs flour
3 tbs. sugar
1/2 cinnamon
2 tbs pecans, chopped

Pre heat oven to 375. Line muffin pan with paper baking cups.
Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt together and set aside.

Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
Stir in the maple syrup and the eggs and beat until well blended.
Add the flour mixture alternately with the milk and
beat until well blended. Stir in the sour cream. Spoon the batter into
the muffin tins filling each about 2/3 full.

Bake for 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Remove to wire rack to cool completely.
Mexican Tostada Salad

Air Date April 9, 2015

Ingredients:

6 flour tortillas
3 tbs butter, melted
1 lb ground beef
1-2 tsp. chili powder
1/4 tsp cumin
1/4 tsp oregano
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. onion powder
1/8 tsp. pepper

1/2 cup tomato sauce
1/2 cup water
2 cups lettuce, shredded
15 oz. can kidney beans, drained
1 large tomato, chopped and seeded
1/2 cup olives, sliced
1/2 cup avacado, diced
8 oz. jar cheese spread, melted
Sour Cream

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly brush each side of tortillas with melted margarine.
place tortillas on cookie sheets and bake for 10-13 minutes. Set aside. In large skillet, brown ground beef and drain.
Add seasonings, tomato sauce and water;
simmer 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Yummy Bars

Ingredients:

2 cups flour
1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
4 eggs
2 cup brown sugar
4 tbsp. flour, rounded
1 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. vanilla
2 cup coconut

Combine flour, butter and brown sugar. Place in 9x13 pan.
Press down and bake for 10 minutes at 325.
Cool
Mix eggs, brown sugar, flour baking powder, vanilla
and coconut well and spread on first mixture.
Bake 25 minutes at 325.
Frosted Maple Bars

Ingredients:

2 cups brown sugar
1 1/2 cup butter
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
3 cups flour

Frosting:
4 cup powdered sugar
4 tbs. milk
4 tbs. butter, soft

Combine all ingredients and spread into greased pan.

1 lb Hamburger, browned and drained
1- 2 pkgs taco seasonings
add seasonings according to pkg directions

Drain & Rinse
1 can kidney beans
1 can pinto beans
1 can black beans

Add to burger mix with
1 can drained whole kernel corn
1 large can beef broth
1 large can of water
1 can stewed tomatoes

Heat to serving temperature. Can serve with corn chips sprinkled on top
or a dollop of sour cream

Pepperoni Caesar Pasta Salad

You will need:

22 1/2 cups shell pasta
15 cups shredded mozzarella
15 packages sliced pepperoni, quartered
15 cups fresh broccoli florets
7 1/2 cups caesar salad dressing

Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil.
Cook shell pasta in boiling water, stirring occasionally, until cooked through
but firm to the bite, 8 minutes, drain.

Combine cheese, pepperoni, and broccoli in a large bowl,
fold in pasta.
Drizzle with Caesar salad dressing, tossing to combine.
Refrigerate until serving.
Biscuits and Gravy

You will need:

3 lbs pork sausage
3 bouillion cubes
1/3 lb butter
1 1/2 cup flour
milk

Fry the pork sausage and drain off grease. Add bouillion cubes. and let them get soft and crumble.
Add butter and let melt. Add flour and keep stirring until a paste.
Add enough milk to cover meat by 1" or so and stir with a whisk so no lumps form.
Add more milk as needed to get desired thickness.
Butterscotch Cake

You will need:

6 cups yellow cake mix
2 butterscotch instant pudding mix
2 cups milk
1 cup oil

Mix all ingredients together and pour into 2 greased Bundt cake pan.
Bake for 35 minutes at 325.
Top with powdered sugar or drizzle with thin powdered sugar frosting.

Matrimony Bars

You will need:

4 cups oatmeal
4 cups flour
2 1/2 cups brown sugar
3 tsp baking soda
dash salt
2 1/2 cup butter, soft

Filling:
32 oz. chopped dates
1 1/2 cup water
2 1/2 cup sugar

Mix oatmeal, flour brown sugar, baking soda, salt and butter together well.
Press half of the mixture into a sheet pan.

In a saucepan, stir chopped dates, water, and sugar. Cook over medium heat until smooth and bubbly.
Pour over crust, spread evenly, and spread remaining crumb mixture on top.
Bake at 325 for 20-25 minutes.
Potato Delight

You will need:

2 lb. bag frozen hash browns
dried onion
salt
1 pint whipping cream

Grease 9x13 pan.
Put a layer of hash browns on the bottom of pan and sprinkle on some dried onion and salt.
Add the whipping cream over the potatoes.
Bake in slow (250) oven for 2 hours.
Fanny Farmer Fudge

You will need:

4 1/2 cup sugar
3 tsp. vanilla
1 lb. butter
1 12 oz. can evaporated milk
1 23 oz. bag chocolate chips

Boil together sugar, butter and milk for 15 to 20 minutes.
Pour boiled mixture in bowl over chocolate chips and vanilla.
Mix for 20 to 30 minutes.

Hawaiian Cake

You will need:

Cake:
1/2 cup oil
11oz. can mand. oranges with juice
4 eggs
1 yellow cake mix

Frosting:
10 oz. cool whip
small instant vanilla pudding
crushed pineapple w/juice

Add oil to cake mix and blend

Add eggs and beat until well blended.

Pour into greased 9 x 13 pan
Bake at 325 degrees convection oven 30 to 35 minutes
Frost when cool.

Chicken Rice Casserole

You will need:

1 cup cooked chicken
1 cup cooked rice
1 bag frozen broccoli
1 bag frozen cauliflower
2 cans cream of mushroom soup
2 cups milk to thin

Cook the chicken breasts and then cube them.
Mix the soups and milk together to the consistency of a cream sauce.
Then add the vegetables, chicken, and rice.
Pour the mixture into a shallow sprayed pan
and bake at 325 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes or until it is bubbly.

Chocolate Marshmallow Bars

You will need:

1 1/2 cup butter, soft
3 cups sugar
6 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 2/3 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp. salt
6 tbsp cocoa
8 cup mini marshmallows

Topping

2 3/4 cup chocolate chips
6 tbsp butter
2 cup peanut butter
4 cups Rice Krispies
Cream together butter and sugar.
Add in vanilla and eggs and beat until fluffy.
Add flour, salt, baking powder, and cocoa and mix well.

Spread onto sprayed sheet pan and bake at 325 for 12-15 minutes.
Remove and sprinkle with marshmallows. Using a wet knife
spread over crust and cool.
Combine topping ingredients and cook over low heat, stirring until melted.
Remove from heat and add cereal.
Spread over crust.

Navy Bean And Ham Soup

You will need:

1 large ham bone
2 cup chopped onion
2 cup chopped celery
3 cup carrots
4 lbs. navy beans
8 qts water
2-3 bay leaves
salt
pepper

Wash beans, place in a large bowl and add boiling water.
Let the beans soak for a few hours. Simmer the ham bones with the beans until the beans are tender.
Remove bones and chop ham bits.
Add chopped onions and celery.
Add water to make about 1 gallon.
Add ham meat, salt and pepper to taste. Cook about 30 minutes longer.

Melt-Away Sugar Cookies

You will need:

1 1/2 c. butter
1 1/2 c. margarine
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
6 1/4 cup flour

Mix all ingredients well. Form into balls and
dip in sugar or use a glass dipped in sugar.

Cream of Potato Soup with Ham

You will need:

Potatoes boiled or cooked and diced
1 medium onion
Ham or bacon, diced
1/2 gallon heavy cream, or milk
salt
pepper

Boil potatoes, or use already cooked ones.
Saute onion, in olive oil or butter
Add potatoes and chopped ham or bacon. Cover potatoes with heavy cream or milk and salt and pepper to taste.
Serve when warm throughout

Lentil Pepperoni Stew

You will need:

6 cup water
1 1/2 cup dry lentils, rinsed
1 medium chopped onion
1/4 lb.sliced pepperoni, quartered
1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. oregano
1/4 tsp. rubbed sage
1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
2 medium tomatoes, chopped
1 celery rib with leaves, chopped
1 medium carrot, chopped

In a Dutch oven, combine the water, lentils, onion, pepperoni,
tomato paste, and seasonings; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 30 minutes.

Add the tomatoes, celery and carrot; cover and simmer 35-45 minutes longer
or until vegetables are tender.

Cranberry Bog Bars

You will need:

Crust ingredients:

2 cup butter (softened)
2 cup brown sugar
4 cups oatmeal
2 cups flour
4 cups Cranberry Sauce

Topping ingredients:

1/2 cup butter (melted)
1/2 cup brown sugar
3 cups oatmeal

Mix butter, brown sugar, oatmeal and flour together and press into a greased sheet pan.
Spread cranberry sauce over the crust and let sit.
Next mix together all the topping ingredients and sprinkle over the cranberry sauce.
Bake in oven at 325 degrees for 20-30 minutes or until lightly brown.
Party Mint Dessert

You will need:

2 pkgs. Oreos crushed
1/2 cup melted butter
1 large container cool whip
2 cup mini marshmallows
5 & one half 8 oz. pkg colored party mints

Mix oreos and butter and chill, but save 3/4 cup crumb mixture.
Blend cool whip, mini marshmallows and colored party mints.
Spread on chilled crust.
Sprinkle remaining crumb mixture on top.
Chill overnight or at least 2 hours.

Zuppa Soup

You will need:

1 1/2 pounds mild Italian/pork sausage
1 large onion, chopped
6 slices bacon
1 1/2 tsp. minced garlic
10 c. water
5 cubes of chicken bouillon
1 c. heavy cream
3 large potatoes, diced
1/4 of a bunch kale
Parmesan cheese for garnish

Cook off sausage and peppers, saute onions and garlic and bacon,
and save a little of the fat for flavoring.
Cook the potatoes in 10 cups of water adding the chicken bouillon. When those are tender,
add sausage, onion, cream and kale.
Simmer for 15 minutes

Hearty Salmon Pie

You will need:

For the crust:

1/4 cup butter
3/4 crushed dried crumbly style herb dressing

For the filling:

2 cup crushed dried crumbly stuffing
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup water
1/2 cup milk
16 oz. can red salmon, drained, flaked, bones removed
2 eggs
1 tsp. instant chicken bouillon
1/2 tsp dry mustard
2 tbs. fresh parsley, chopped
1 tbs. onion, chopped

Sauce:
1/3 cup butter
2 tbs. cornstarch
1 1/3 cup water
1 tsp. dill weed
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cup cubed 1/2" ripe tomatoes

Heat oven to 350 degrees. In a 3 quart saucepan, melt 1/4 cup finely crushed stuffing.
Press stuffing mixture on bottom and
upsides of a greased 9" pie pan. Set aside.
In the same saucepan, stir together all filling ingredients; spoon into crust. Bake for 50-55 minutes or until heated through; let stand 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, in 2-quart saucepan, melt 1/3 cup butter. Stir in cornstarch. Stir in remaining sauce ingredients except tomatoes.
Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until mixture comes to a full boil.
Add tomatoes and boil for one minute.

Chicken and Cheese Enchiladas

You will need:

1 can condensed cream of chicken soup
1/2 c. sour cream
1 c. picante sauce
2 tsp. chili powder
2 c. cooked chicken, chopped
1/2 c. Monterey jack cheese, shredded
6 flour tortillas ( 6 inch) warmed
1/2 c. (1 small) tomato, chopped
2 tbs green onion, sliced

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Stir in the soup, sour cream, picante sauce and chili powder in a medium bowl.
Stir in 1 cup soup mixture, chicken and cheese in large bowl.
Divide the chicken mixture among the tortillas.
Roll up the tortillas and place seam-side down in a 11x7x2 inch pan.
Pour the remaining soup mixture over the filled tortillas.
Cover the baking dish.
Bake for 40 minutes or until the enchiladas are hot and bubbling.
Top with the tomato and onion.

Apple Cider Doughnuts

You will need:

2 Apples
2 1/2 c. cider
3 1/2 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
3 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 2/3 c. sugar
3 tbs. shortening
1 egg & 1 egg yolk
3/4 cup buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. powdered sugar
Vegetable oil for frying

Core and coarsely chop apples. Combine with 1 1/2 cups cider in saucepan, cover and cook on medium heat about 8 minutes or until soft.
Uncover and continue cooking until apples are tender and cider is almost reduced, about 5 minutes.
Puree. Measure to 1 cup. Let cool slightly.

Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg. Beat 2/3 cup sugar
and shortening until blended.
Beat egg in applesauce. Add 1/2 of the flour mixture, then the buttermilk, and vanilla, and then the rest of the flour.
Mix the sticky dough, but don't over mix.

Scrape bowl onto floured parchment paper and pat into 7x11 rectangle
about 1/2 inch thick. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

Make glaze by simmering 1 cup cider until reduced to 1/4 cup. Whisk in powdered sugar until glossy and set aside.

Mix up 1 cup sugar and 2 tsp. cinnamon for the topping.

Heat 2 inches of oil to 400. Line sheet with paper towel.
Cut chilled dough into 12 21/2 - 3 inch rounds and middles out with 1 inch round.
Fry 2-3 at a time. 1-2 minutes per side.
Drain. Dip into glaze and then sugar mixture.

Butternut Squash Soup

You will need:

1 1/2 cup onion, chopped
1 c. butter
24 c. peeled and cubed squash
2-3 cans chicken broth
2 tsp. marjoram
1 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. rosemary
8 (8 oz.) pkgs, cream cheese

In a large saucepan, saute onions in margarine until tender.
Add squash, broth, majoram, black pepper, and rosemary.
Bring to boil; cook 20 minutes, or until squash is tender.

Puree squash and cream cheese in a blender or food processor in batches until smooth.
Return to saucepan, and heat through. Do not allow to boil.

Chocolate Peanut Bars

You will need:

1 cup chunky peanut butter
6 oz. chocolate chips
6 oz. butterscotch chips
1 stick margarine
3-4 cups Rice Krispies
1 pkg. miniature marshmallows
1/2 cup peanuts

Melt peanut butter, chocolate chips, butterscotch chips and margarine over medium heat.

In a large bowl mix Rice Krispies, miniature marshmallows, and peanuts.

Pour melted sauce over cereal. Stir well.
Press into a 9x13 inch pan and cool.

Ashley's Lasagna

You will need:

3 #10 cans spaghetti sauce
1 can diced tomatoes
4 onions, chopped
20 lbs ground beef
1 container cottage cheese
3-4 boxed of noodles
Shredded mozzarella cheese

SEASONINGS FOR SAUCE:

2 tbs. garlic powder
2 tbs onion powder
2 tbs. ground Italian Herbs
1 tbs. oregano
1 tbs. basil
2 tsp. ground majoram
2 tsp. salt

Add garlic powder, onion powder, ground Italian herbs, oregano, basil, ground majoram
and salt to spaghetti sauce.

Brown beef, and drain; add seasoned spaghetti sauce, onions, and diced tomatoes.
Put down a layer of sauce, then noodles, then cottage cheese, then sauce again. Sprinkle with shredded mozzarella.
Add another layer of noodles, cottage cheese, sauce and sprinkle shredded mozzarella.
Add one more of each layer, add one cup of water to each pan, cover and cook at 325 for 45 minutes
reduce temp to 300 and cook for another 25 minutes.

Baked Rice Pudding

You will need:

15 eggs (beaten)
7 1/2 cup milk
2 2/3 cup sugar
5 tsp. vanilla
5 cups rice(cooked)
2 1/2 cups raisins
Cinnamon

Combine together the first 4 ingredients and add to the cooked rice,
and raisins. Sprinkle the top with cinnamon and bake
at 325 degrees for 30 - 45 minutes
or until the middle is firm to the touch.

Apple Streusel Cheesecake Bars

You will need
2 pouch oatmeal cookie mix
1 cup butter, firm
4 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 cup sugar
4 tbs flour
2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2 can apple pie filling
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. walnuts, chopped

Heat oven to 350. Spray bottom and sides of 13x9 inch pan with cooking spray.

Place cookie mix in a large bowl. With pastry blender or fork, cut in butter until mixture is crumbly and coarse.
Reserve 1 1/2 cups crumb mixture; press remaining crumbs in bottom of pan.
Bake 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, in a large bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, flour, vanilla
and egg with electric mixer on medium speed until smooth.

Spread cream cheese mixture evenly over partially baked crust. In a medium bowl
mix pie filling and cinnamon. Spoon evenly over cream cheese mixture.
Sprinkle reserved crumbs over top. Sprinkle with walnuts.

Bake 35-40 minutes longer or until light golden brown.
Cool about 30 minutes. Refrigerate to chill, about 2 hours. Store covered in refrigerator

PJB Bars

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup quick cooking oats

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 cup butter, softened

1/4 cup white sugar

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

1 egg

1/2 cup peanut butter

1/4 cup milk

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/4 cups any flavor fruit jam

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup quick cooking oats

1/4 cup packed brown sugar

1/8 teaspoon baking soda
3 tablespoons butter, softened

Beat 1/2 cup butter or margarine until smooth. Add 1/4 cup white sugar and 1/2 cup brown sugar and beat well.
Add egg, milk, peanut butter and vanilla and beat well.
Stir in 1 cup flour, 1 cup oats, and 1/2 teaspoon baking soda.

Spread in a greased 13 x 9 inch pan. Spread preserves all over top. Sprinkle with crumb topping.
To Make Topping:
Mix together 1/2 cup flour, 1/2 cup quick oats, 1/4 cup brown sugar,
1/8 teaspoon baking soda, and 3 tablespoons softened butter or margarine until crumbly.
Sprinkle over the top of the preserves.
Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 18 - 20 minutes.

Garlic Cheese Biscuits

You will need
14 cups buttermilk baking mix
4 2/3 cup milk
3 1/2 c shredded Cheddar Cheese
1 3/4 cup butter melted
1 tbs and 1/2 tsp. garlic powder

Preheat oven to 450 degrees
Combine baking mix, milk and cheddar cheese in mixing bowl.
Beat with wooden spoon until soft dough forms.

Drop dough by spoonfuls unto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes until golden brown.

Mix butter and garlic powder and brush over warm biscuits
before removing from cookie sheet.

Peach Pie

Air Date August 21, 2014

You will need
2/3 cup butter
2 cup flour
1/2 tsp salt
4 to 5 tbs water

Filling
2/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup flour
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
6 peaches, medium size
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 tbs. butter

For the crust, mix flour, salt, and butter together and add water,
1 tbs at a time until desired consistency.
Roll into 2 flat discs and refrigerate them for
at least 15 minutes.

For the filling, mix the flour, sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl.
Slice the peaches and toss them with lemon juice.
Combine with the flour mixture and scoop into the pastry shell.
Dot with butter, and then cover and seal.
Cover edge until last 15 minutes of baking.

Bake for 45 minutes or until brown at 425 degrees.
Cool and serve
Blonde Brownies

You will need
2 2/3 cup flour
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2/3 cup butter
2 1/4 cup brown sugar
3 eggs
1 cup peanuts, chopped
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate morsels

Sift together and set aside flour, baking powder, and salt.
Melt butter in large saucepan and blend in brown sugar.
Let cool for approx. 10 minutes.

Beat in eggs, one at a time. Add flour mixture, chopped peanuts,
and chocolate morsels, and then spread out.

Iowa Auction Sandwich

3 lb Hamburger, browned and drained
2 tbsp dried onion
1 Tbsp warm water

Put onion & water together in a small bowl to reconstitute onion

1 beef and 1 chicken bouillon cube
1 1/2 c water

Dissolve cubes in water.

1 Tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
2 Tbsp brown sugar

Beet Salad

You will need
1 #10 can of beets cubed and drained
1 tbsp oil
1 tsp brown mustard
1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
dash tabasco sauce

Combine and pour on drained beets. Let sit in refrigerator for at least one hour.

Before serving, add 1 finely chopped red onion, 1/3 cup crumbled feta cheese and parsley flakes
Mix well.

Peanut Butter Oatmeal Bars

Beef Stroganoff

You will need
1 lb. ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
1/2 cup mushrooms, chopped
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup sour cream
5 oz. beef stock
1/2 pound fettuccini noodles, cooked and drained

Saute the vegetables in butter and pour them over the cubed beef. Mix soup
sour cream, and the beef stock and then mix
that into the beef and vegetables.
Add the cooked noodles and combine thoroughly.

Jello Poke Salad

Air Date June 12, 2014

You will need
2 boxes of white cake mix
2 small pkgs jello any flavor
cool whip

Bake cake in a 9x13 inch pan according to the directions.
Poke holes in the warm cake with a large metal fork.
Mix the jello with 1 cup boiling water and pour slowly over the entire cake.
Let the cake cool completely,
and frost with the cool whip.

Keep this cake refrigerated.

Au Gratin Potatoes

You will need
1 pound potatoes
1/2 quart buttermilk
2 1/2 tablespoons salt
1 1/2 tablespoons pepper
1/2 pound cheddar cheese, shredded

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease the baking pans.
Layer the potatoes pm the bottom of the dish.
Pour 1/3 of the buttermilk of the buttermilk over the potatoes and sprinkle
with 1/3 of the salt, pepper, and cheese.
Repeat 2 more times, ending with cheese on top.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until hot,
bubbly, and golden.

Snicker Salad

You will need
3-4 apples, cored and cut bite size (peel if desired). If you don't peel the apples,
choose different colored apples for variety of color in the salad.

3-4 snickers bars (regular-sized, not mini ones), sliced into 1/2 inch pieces.
A good tip is to cut them in half the long way and then into 1/2 inch slices.

1 small container cool whip

1/2 package dry instant butterscotch pudding

Mix dry pudding with cool whip. Add the apples and snickers pieces. Walnuts may be added if you like.

You can vary this recipe with different flavors of pudding and different candy bars,
and other fruits such as fresh strawberries, grapes or fresh orange sections.

Use your imagination and give anything a try once!

Zucchini Bread

3 eggs (beat until fluffy)

1 cup vegetable oil

2 cups sugar

2 cups grated raw zucchini

1 tsp. vanilla

3 cups flour

1 tsp soda

1 tsp salt

2 tsp. cinnamon

1/4 tsp. baking powder
In large bowl put in 1st five ingredients. Then add the dry ingredients.
Nuts may be added if desired. Mix well, but do not over mix.
Divide dough into 2 greased and floured loaf pans
and bake 325 for 1 hour or until toothpick comes out clean. Freezes well.
Rice Krispies

Air Date May 15, 2014

You will need:

3 tablespoons butter
1 package marshmallows
6 cups Rice Krispies

Melt the butter and marshmallows.
Add the cereal and spread in a greased 9 x 13 inch pan.
Let cool and cut.
Cover with plastic and foil right away so they don't get too hard.
This recipe makes 20 2x3 inch bars.
Waldorf Salad

Air Date May 8, 2014

You will need:

4-6 red apples, chopped
4-6 yellow apples, chopped
4 tablespoons lemon juice
4-5 stocks celery, chopped
1 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
1 1/2 cup raisins
2 cups mayo
Cinnamon
Nutmeg

Toss the apples in lemon juice and
add the celery, raisins, and mayo and mix it well.
Then add the cinnamon and nutmeg.
Chill.
Walnuts are to be served in the side.

Rhubarb and Strawberry Crisp

You will need:

6 cups cut rhubarb
2 cups fresh strawberries, cut
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 egg
4 1/2 tablespoons flour
1 box dry white cake mix
1 1/2 sticks butter

Mix the rhubarb, strawberries, sugar, egg and flour together
and put into a 9x13 inch baking pan.
Put the box of cake mix over the rhubarb and strawberries.
Then cut up the sticks of butter and place on top of the dry cake mix.
Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until golden brown.

Seame Chicken

You will need:

1/3 cups honey
2 1/2 tablespoon soy sauce
1 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
1/3 cup sesame seeds
1 1/4 pounds boneless, skinless, chicken thighs

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. In a medium bowl,
stir together the honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, and sesame seeds.
Dip the chicken into the sauce to coat,
and then place them in a lightly greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
Bake for about 45 minutes in the preheated oven
until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce is carmalized.
Peanut Butter Cake Bars

You will need:

1 1/3 cups butter, soft
1 1/3 cups peanut butter
2 cups sugar
2 cups brown sugar
8 eggs
4 teaspoons vanilla
4 cups flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
20 oz. chocolate chips (or butterscotch chips)

Cream the butter, peanut butter, sugar and brown sugar.
Then add the eggs, beating well.
Add vanilla and stir again.
Add the flour, salt, baking powder and mix well.
Add the chocolate or butterscotch chips.
Spread into a greased sheet pan and bake at 325 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes.

Pea Salad

Air Date April 10, 2014

You will need:

2 bags frozen peas
5 handfuls of cubed cheese

Dressing:
4 cups miracle whip
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup vinegar
salt
pepper

First thaw the peas. Cut the cheese into smaller pieces if needed.
Make the dressing and pour over the peas and cheese

Make sure to refrigerate.

Shirley's Lemon Bars

You will need:

CRUST:
3 cups flour
1 cup powdered sugar
3 sticks butter, softened not melted
3 tablespoons lemon zest

FILLING:
6 large eggs
4 tablespoons lemon zest
1 cup lemon juice
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
6 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon salt
powdered sugar for dusting

First, make the crust by blending all crust ingredients together to a course crumb stage.
Pat the crumbs into a foil-lined, small greased jellyroll pan.
Bake at 325 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes until the crust is a golden brown.
Remove to a cooling rack and filling may be added right away.

For the filling, beat the eggs at a high speed until they are frothy.
Add sugar and continue at high speed until the mixture is thick and lemon-colored,
around three minutes.
Reduce speed and add the remaining ingredients one at a time and beat until well blended,
scraping the sides of the bowl as you go.
Pour the mixture over the warm crust and bake at 350 degrees for another 15 to 20 minutes.
The filling should be set and lightly browned at the edges.
Remove from the oven and dust with powdered sugar.
Cool completely before trying to cut. Keep in fridge.

Scallop Potatoes and Ham

You will need:

8-10 potatoes
1 1/2 cups chopped ham
Salt
Pepper
1 pint heavy whipping cream
Peel and thinly slice a layer of potatoes into a greased pan.
Salt and pepper the potatoes and then add a layer of ham.
Repeat these steps and end with a layer of potatoes.

Pour the heavy whipping cream over the whole pan
until you can see it come up the sides of the pan.
Cover with plastic wrap and a metal cover.

Bake until fork tender, usually two hours at 350 degrees.

Fruit Bars

Air Date March 20, 2014

You will need:

3 cups oats
2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 1/2 cups butter, soft
fruit filling

First combine the oats, flour, brown sugar, and butter.
Set half of the mixture aside for the topping and press the
other half of the mixture into a sprayed pan
and bake at 325 for 20-25 minutes.

For the filling, prepared preserves or pie filling can be used.
use enough to cover the crust nicely.
Cover that fruit with the reserved oat mixture.
Press gently into the fruit and bake another
20-30 minutes at 325 degrees, or until golden.

You can drizzle with powdered sugar frosting if desired.
Patsy's Salad

Air Date March 13, 2014

You will need:

2 cups mayo
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 to 3/4 cup parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons minced onion
2 tablespoons dried parsley
Lettuce
8 strips bacon, chopped
broccoli, chopped
Mix the mayo, sugar, parmesan cheese, onion, and parsley together.
Let mixture stand for two hours.
Then, before you are ready to serve, mix the lettuce, bacon
and broccoli together in a bowl. Add dressing to your liking.
This dressing will keep in the fridge for up to two weeks.
Chocolate Butterscotch Bars

You will need:

2 1/2 cups crushed vanilla wafers
1/4 cup butter, melted
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup coconut
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup butterscotch chips
1 can sweetened condensed milk

Mix together vanilla wafers, melted butter, and vanilla.
Press the mixture into a sprayed sheet pan and sprinkle
with the coconut, chocolate chips, and butterscotch chips over the top.
Pour the condensed milk over the top of that
and bake at 350 degrees for 20 - 25 minutes
or until the edges are lightly brown.

Halushki with Polish Sausage

You will need:

1 bag extra wide egg noodles, cooked
1 lb Polish Sausage, sliced 1/2 inch thick
1 jar sauerkraut, drained and rinsed
1/2 lb butter, melted
Salt and pepper to taste

Cook the noodles in water and drain them.
Then add them to a steam pan with the sauerkraut and polish sausage.
Mix all three together and pour the butter over the mixture.
Bake in the oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
Add more butter if the noodles seem a little dried out.

Banana Bars

Air Date February 20, 2014

You will need:

1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 mashed bananas
3/4 cup buttermilk
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
dash of soda

FROSTING
1 cup evaporated milk
3 egg yolks
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 pound margerine
1/2 cup coconut
1 cup nuts, chopped

Cream the butter and sugar together.
Add eggs, mashed bananas and buttermilk and mix well
Add the flour, baking soda, salt and mix.
Bake in a greased jellyroll pan, cool and then frost.

For the frosting, combine milk, egg yolks, sugar, vanilla, and margarine.
Boil for about 10 minutes and then add coconut and nuts.
Cool and then spread over the bars.

Chicken Rice Casserole

You will need:

1 cup cooked chicken
1 cup cooked rice
1 bag frozen broccoli
1 bag frozen cauliflower
2 cans cream of mushroom soup
2 cups milk to thin

Cook the chicken breasts and then cube them.
Mix the soups and milk together to the consistency of a cream sauce.
Then add the vegetables, chicken, and rice.
Pour the mixture into a shallow sprayed pan
and bake at 325 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes or until it is bubbly.
Apple Crisp

Air Date February 6, 2014

You will need:

5-6 cups sliced apples
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 egg
1/3 cup butter
Cinnamon

Mix the dry ingredients together, and then add the egg until the mixture is crumbly.
Layer the apples in the bottom of a 8x10 sprayed pan
and spread the mix over the apples.
Then pour 1/3 cup melted butter over the mixture and sprinkle with cinnamon.
Bake at 325 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.

Potato Soup

Air Date January 30, 2014

You will need:

4 cups boiled, cubed and slightly mashed
1/2 onion, chopped
1/4 lb bacon, fried crispy and cut
4. oz cream cheese
1 1/2 cans chicken broth
salt
pepper

Place potatoes, onion, pepper, salt and bacon in a crock pot.
Soften cream cheese and mix with the chicken broth.
Add broth mixture to the crock pot.
Cook in the crock pot on high for 5 hours or low for 8 hours.
Rice Krispies Oatmeal Bars

You will need:

1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. butter
1 c. oil
1 egg
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
3 1/2 c. flour
1 c. rice krispies
1 c. oatmeal

Cream sugar, brown sugar, butter and oil together; then add egg, then flour, baking soda and salt.
Add vanilla, Rice Krispies and oatmeal.
Spread into greased baking pan and bake
at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes

Sloppy Joes

You will need:

1 lb. ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 c. ketchup (or to taste)
1/3 c. mustard (or to taste)
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
Salt and Pepper to taste

Brown ground beef, chopped onion and garlic powder and drain off fat.
Add ketchup, mustard and brown sugar.
Add salt, pepper and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer.

Melt-Away Sugar Cookies

You will need:

1 1/2 c. butter
1 1/2 c. margarine
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
6 1/4 cup flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. cream of tartar
1 tbsp. baking soda
Mix all ingredients well. Form into balls and
dip in sugar or use a glass dipped in sugar.

Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
Tator Tot Hotdish

Air Date January 2, 2014

You will need:

1 lb ground beef
1 small chopped onion, or 1/2 cup dried onion
1 can of cream of mushroom soup
1 can of milk (enough to thin the sauce)
1 bag Tator Tots
1 can Veg-all Mixed vegetables
Salt
Pepper
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp soy sauce

Brown ground beef and onion together, mix in the cream of mushroom soup and milk.
Simmer until the mixture is creamy, add salt, pepper and Worcestershire sauce to taste.
Place all of the veggies into a pan.
Cover veggie mixture with burger and sauce mixture and stir well.
Cover the top with tater tots and then cover the pans.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes;
uncover for an additional 15 minutes to let the tots brown nicely.
