Twins Win

The Minnesota Twins built an early 4-0 lead and hung on to beat the Royals 5-4 in Kansas City yesterday. Nelson Cruz’s solo homer in the top of the ninth pushed the lead to 5-3 and proved to be the difference as K-C scored once in the bottom of the ninth to pull to within one. Minnesota took two-ofthree in the series. Taylor Rogers allowed the ninth inning tally, but closed it out for his sixth save. Marwin Gonzalez doubled in two runs for the Twins, while the pitching win went to Tyler Clippard. Kris Bubic (BOOB-itch) took the loss. Jorge Soler (so-LARE) had a two-run double for the Royals, who have lost five of its last seven. The Twins begin a three-game series tonight in Cleveland at 6:10 P-M.
