Twins lose 5th straight

Former Twins infielder Jonathan Schoop (SKOPE) homered in the sixth inning to lift the Tigers past the Twins 3-2 yesterday in Detroit. Jeimer Candelario also went deep and Miguel Cabrera plated the other run for the Tigers, who swept the three-game series and have won five straight overall. Tyler Alexander picked up the win in relief. Jorge Polanco homered for Minnesota, which has dropped a season-high five in-a-row. Kenta Maeda (my-AYE-duh) allowed three runs in six frames as he fell to 4-1 with the loss. The Twins return to Minnesota to open an eight-game home stand, beginning with the Chicago White Sox tonight.
