St. Croix Co. Jury Deadlocked In Fleischauer Murder Trial

After more than eleven hours of deliberation, a St. Croix County jury has yet to reach a decision in a murder case.  Kayle Fleischauer, age 43, is accused of shooting and killing his 19-year-old son, Chase Fleischauer, in April of 2018.  He is charged with first-degree intentional homicide and being a felon in possession of a firearm.  Wednesday afternoon, the jury told St. Croix County Judge Scott Needham they were deadlocked.  The judge sent them back to continue to try to reach a verdict. The jury asked five time to see evidence used in the trial, including a picture that showed the trajectory of the fatal bullet.  The jury will resume deliberations this morning at 8am and does have the option of considering lower charges than first degree intentional homicide.
