‘Nopening’ Day

The independent league St. Paul Saints minor league baseball team has pushed the start of its season into July, but that hasn’t stopped the creative club from offering a virtual opening day on Tuesday, May 19th, which it is calling “Nopening Day.” The on-line “Nopening Day” will honor last year’s championship team, include a televised fireworks display, and a broadcast of the team’s first-ever game at C-H-S Field against Fargo-Moorhead. The team will use its social media platforms on Facebook and Twitter to conduct prize give-aways and stay connected, starting at 6 P-M on Tuesday. During the on-line festivities will be given away just as they would at the ballpark for a normal game. The team will also offer fans a chance to drive past the stadium and pick up one of 500 t-shirts that will be handed out, starting at 5:30 P-M. For complete details on “Nopening Day” fans can log on to the Saints team webpage.
