A man was accidentally shot while hunting in Dunn County.
According to the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office, it happened in the 3900 block of 640th Street in the town of Red Cedar on Sunday morning.
Sheriff Kevin Bygd said four family members were bird hunting at a game farm. One of them set down a shotgun against some brush to tend to a dog. That is when the shotgun tipped over and fired. The safety of the shotgun was not engaged and the man, age 60, was hit by the bird shot pellets. He was airlifted from the scene by a Mayo helicopter.
The Wisconsin DNR is leading the investigation.
