Multiple reports from Milwaukee indicate Police Chief Alfonso Morales may be fired this (Monday) afternoon. One of the sources is the Milwaukee Police Association, which is against the move. The city’s Fire and Police Commission is holding a special meeting to “vote and issue directives” for the chief. Morales is a Milwaukee native who has been with the police department for 25 years. A police union spokesman says there is a chance some high-ranking officers in the department could decide to retire if Morales is out. Members of the Common Council have been critical of the way he has handled the protests.
