Brewers lose

Home runs by Josh Bell and Gregory Polanco broke a 1-1 tie and powered the Pittsburgh Pirates to a 5-1 win at Miller Park Sunday. Brewers right-bander Brandon Woodruff gave up the two long balls while losing at home for the first time in 10 decisions over two years. Keston Hiura singled in Milwaukee’s only run in the third inning. Reliever Nick Tropeano earned the win in relief. Eric Lauer is the tentative starter for the Brewers as the two teams wrap up the four-game series tonight (Monday) at 6:40 p-m, but he would have to be promoted from the team’s alternate training site.
