All Bars Closing

All of the bars and taverns in the Ashland area are closing today (Friday) for more than two weeks to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. The Ashland County Public Health Officer imposed the temporary closure that will continue through Sunday October 11th. The order notes that the majority of new COVID- 19 cases in Ashland County are “directly related to spontaneous gatherings in bars and/or tavern type establishments with no less than seven establishments identified as sources of exposure.” The order does not cover restaurants that sell alcohol as long as alcohol sales account for 50-percent or less of their revenue. Violations could result in fines of 200 to 500 dollars.
