A fire broke out Sunday morning, June tenth, at 244 192nd Street in the Town of Alden in Polk County. The property, owned by David and Barb Grevich, was distinctive: it was a home fashioned out of a steel silo. According to New Richmond Fire Chief Jim VanderWyst, his department received the call at about 8am. No one was home at the time of the fire. Fire consumed the silo, a two-car garage and a wood shed. The crews saved two other out buildings, pulling water from nearby Middle Pine Lake. The cause of the fire has not been determined yet.
