Polk CO. Woman Sentenced For Forgery

On Friday the US Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, Scott Blader, announced that Sarah McKenzie, age 41 of Luck, was sentenced by US District Judge Conley to one year and one day in federal prison for making a forged security. Her prison sentence will be followed by two years of supervised release. McKenzie pleaded guilty to the charge on October 30th.

McKenzie worked at Core Products in Osceola as an Accounts Manager and Human Resources Director. Accounting Department employees in August 2016 noticed duplicate check numbers and checks made out to McKenzie that appeared to have a forged signature. Subsequent internal audit and criminal investigation discovered that McKenzie written 305 forged company checks and an additional 98 checks which she cashed. These checks totaled almost $397-thousand and were issued between 2011 and 2016. She spent the majority of the money on casinos and psychic hot-lines.
