The Los Angeles Dodgers are headed back to the National League Championship Series. They beat the Braves 6-2 in Game Four of their N-L Division Series in Atlanta to advance. David Freese delivered a two-run, pinch-hit single in the sixth inning to put L-A ahead 3-2 and Manny Machado added a three-run homer in the seventh. Ryan Madson got the win, while Jonny Venters took the loss. Kurt Suzuki singled in Atlanta’s two runs in the fourth. The Dodgers won the best-of-five series 3-1 and will play the Milwaukee Brewers in the N-L-C-S.
The Red Sox are just a win away from a trip to the American League Championship Series. They blasted the Yankees 16-1 in Game Three of their A-L Division Series in the Bronx. Brock Holt became the first player in history to hit for the cycle in the postseason. He finished 4-for-6 with five RB-I to lead an 18-hit Boston attack. Andrew Benintendi had a three-run double in a seven-run fourth inning for the Sox. Nathan Eovaldi pitched seven innings of one-run ball for the win. Luis Severino took the loss.
Boston leads the best-of-five series 2-1. New York hosts Game Four on Tuesday.
